- Sariva (Hemidesmus indicus)- also known by the name Indian Sarsaparilla or Naruneendi in Malayalam, Sariva is a widely used herb in Ayurveda, especially for the management of gastritis, nausea, and menstrual problems due to hormonal imbalances. Ancient scholar Charaka has included it in the category of jwarahara (that which relieves fever) and dāhashāmaka (that which mitigates burning sensation), due to its remarkable ability to lower the body temperature. It balances all three doshas. Sariva is also helpful in relieving skin diseases and itching. It is a potent antioxidant that helps to flush out toxins from the body.
- Lodhra (Symplocos racemosa)- Being known as the divine drug of Ayurveda, Lodhra mainly cures gynecological issues. When powdered, it nourishes the skin and leaves it blemish-free and wrinkle-free. Lodhra helps detoxify the skin and provides a cooling effect. The phytoconstituents like triterpenoid saponin and Beta-sitosterol provide Lodhra with an anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory action.
- Pippali (Piper longum)- ancient Ayurvedic texts refer to pippali (thippali in vernacular language) as a medicine and spice at the same time and is used as a prime ingredient in several Ayurvedic formulations. Pippali fruits have been reported to alleviate allergic conditions by reducing cytokine action, respiratory hyperresponsiveness, and eosinophil infiltration. Used for treating tuberculosis and airway tract infections. Piperine, the alkaloid in Pippali, is anti-carcinogenic and inhibits excess cellular proliferation anywhere in the body. Also, it exhibits antioxidant property that prevents free radical poisoning. Piper essential oils are effective analgesics- they pacify the pain and give instant relief. It boosts the macrophage activity thereby promoting immunity.

Guduchi is highly praised for its anti-inflammatory action and the ability to pacify all three doshas. The extract is used in fever and in rhinitis conditions. It has antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, anti-arthritic, antiseptic, anti-allergic, and anti-diabetic properties. Alkaloids like Berberine arrest degenerative changes.
